Fieldwork 1948. Rose's (1941) work came very close to including every person on the island. McCarthy/McArthur visited the island briefly in 1948 and published their small genealogy of a group of people they met. So it is pretty safe to assume that the people in the tiny sample by McCarthy/McArthur were among the much more detailed genealogies by Rose, but since McCarthy/McArthur did not link the two datasets in 1948, it is impossible to link them now. |
